OK, so you take your car in for dealer service because you've reached X,XXX miles or X,XXX kilometers listed in the owner's manual.
Please pick the most significant answer that describes the service you receive. If several answers apply, pick the one that seems to stir your emotions the most.
(You don't have to be a S2000 owner, just a Honda owner.)

A number of answers apply. My dealer offers me a choice of normal and severe. I always feel that I have to look over their work. I'm sure they love when I ask them to do more (yet I'm also sure that they'd object if I'd ask them to leave off something on their list.) Sometimes I get charged a la carte, and sometimes not.
I think that my dealer is pretty good, but, I don't completely trust them either.
This is a hard poll to answer!

Choices 3 thru 8 were made based on my experiences with some Honda and Acura dealerships. My current dealer is not much better at getting the right package and clearly communicating what service was done. I wondered how everybody else was making out.

Don't be foolish. Any dealership hopes that you'll come in and ask for the X number of miles service, because they make most of their money from ridiculous things like "checked CV boots" or "Checked brake lines". You should be proactive in your cars maintenance, regardless of what car you have or where you have it serviced. You should know exactly what routine maintenance your car needs before going to the dealer, and then you should specify in no uncertain terms what you want them to do. Anything less than this and you are being taken for a ride.

Yeah, but typically when I go in and spell it out and they give me a even though I'm nice about it. Like I'm telling them how to service my car. This is why I love being able to do almost everything routine myself

I do my own maintenance on my S2000, but have taken the Civic and Prelude to dealerships. I have always found the the dealerships recommend you follow the severe driving conditions schedule (but they make it sound like ALL cars should follow this). They do this simply to make more money. They assume must customers are ignorant and never read their owners manuals. I now try to do most scheduled maintenance on all my Hondas! If I take it to the dealer, I'll try to negotiate my own "package" deal that doesn't do more than needed.
