For those who have lowered their suspension or painted their brake calipers... With 18" wheels and front spoiler, is ground clearance a prob in lowering the car 3/4 " ? Also, i'm thinking of painting the brake calipers red and the right way of doing it is to take the whole brake off, have it coated with some chemical, and then paint it.. how did yours get done ? and the results?.. Thanks.

If you really want to do it right, have your calipers powdercoated. If you can get your calipers into the powdercoat place where they were doing a batch of the same color, you might only have to pay like $80, which is way more worth it than painting it.

Mingster... don't they have to bake the items to be powder coated? Would this not require a rebuild of the calipers?

Powder coating's final step is an oven bake at around 400 F. So any heat sensitive items such as the sqaure o-ring seals, dust covers etc have to be taken off. Just the metal gets powder coated. They also need to mask or tape any areas you don't want to be covered such as the bores. Done right and you have a long lasting finish. You still need to be careful with brake fluid, wheel cleaners and so forth. Under track use, the hot pad and disc dust can land on the finish and melt into it.

E30M3, I've also heard that's the long but correct way of doing it. I think i'll just wear it out then replace with a red, slotted rotor one... maybe a brembo one if the nasdaq can find a bottom here..
