Default About to pick up a 2001 S2000 this weekend.

Can someone roast me on how the maintenance and reliability on this car is. I am coming from a lexus is350. The car is blue, the colour that I wanted. The reason I'm unsure on buying it right now is that should I wait for a 03 model since people are talking about how that was the best year. Do you guys think its worth adding 6k more for an ap2. This one i'm looking at is 12k CAD 75k km 2001, the only con was that it was repainted blue I haven't asked why, its original colour was silver. Im planning to get a ppi and hopefully purchase it. I'm going to be driving this car 90% city so I'm not sure if I can ever hit vtec, also first manual car.

These are great for a daily driver. I bought mine last summer and I have driven it ever day since, except for winter of course. The AP1 is a fun model to drive, it loves to rev and its easy to maintain. For $12,000 cad with low kms it seems like a good deal. Is it a clean title? Do you have any pictures of it? I would be a bit concerned on why they resprayed it blue as well. If it does have a clean title, I don't think I would shy away from purchasing it.

Claims to be a clean title, will do a vin search and PPI. Only downside is I have to ferry to an island to pick it up. Also got a brand new clutch 5k km ago. I will be dailying it as well. I wonder how the s traight line will be vs my is350.

Full inspection should give you the answers are far as its reliability (if it was well maintained, you should have no worries). It is curious about the respray though...

Is this the one located in Victoria?

Seems like a great deal if clean no accidents. A friend picked up an 01 red with 120K for $15k a few weeks ago, this is a greatr deal if comparing the 2.

I would check the paint job very carefully, ask if the top was removed when painted - I have seen a few that have had work done in the rear quarters and that moulding around the rear quaters was not removed to paint under and the clear was peeling off around the edges.

Personally Gerbs, I don't like the fact that it was painted. That's just me.

some people change their car colors almost as often as they change shirts. Check the engine bay and front plastics for overspray.

I was gonna say... I re painted 2 of my other cars totally different color, no reason other than I wanted that color and I'm getting the S re-sprayed because of rock chips.
