Its an old car. Things wear out. Replace everything at once preemptively or replace monthly as it completely takes a dump.

 

 

'06 with 145k miles.
One axle and one radiator(piece of metal pierced it on the freeway)
I've had to replace three right rear hubs, all replaced by three different Honda dealers in three different states while on vacation.
One hub only lasted around 2k miles.

Is your car kept outside? Bet the LV heat and sun doesn't help. Previous commenter might have a garage or more temperate climate.

 

'03 with 396,000 miles. Replaced:
hubs due to worn bearings
Struts
starter
alternator brushes
fuel pump (to be safe)
Rear brake caliper
New idler pulley & tensioner pulley
New clutch & throwout bearing
A few running light bulbs
PCV valve
All 4 coil packs
Cracked windshield (3 times)
Spark plugs, rotors, tires, fluids, filters, brake pads, belts, etc.

 

I just bought a 2nd (MY07) S2000 to use as a track car.

163K currently. PO didn't have to replace much.

Clutch (duh), alternator, throttle body, motor mounts and diff mounts is what he mentioned. It also has poly bushings...but I don't think the old bushings wore out before he replaced them.

It was supercharged for a while...so maybe some other stuff got taken care of?

Original hubs still. And original axles. No shake I can feel. Its been tracked a bunch.

 

It all comes down to how the previous owners cared for the car. Mine is an 01 with 117k on it with 3 prior owners. First owner was a Honda dealership owner who had it for around 7 years, so it was in very capable hands. Second owner was a man with more money than sense, who took on every mechanical problem he encountered as one would take a sledgehammer to a mosquito. For example, he hit a whitetail deer, had a front fender replaced, and rather than worry about having an oddly colored fender, he resprayed the entire car. He had a valve bend, and rather than remove and have head work done, he just had a new head and valvetrain installed. He must've been made of money. The owner before me had no idea what he had and panicked when the original clutch started to rattle, and he missed basic maintenance for a few years. As a consequence of the last owner, I've only replaced the TCT, Alternator rectifier, 4 plug coils, and the rest has been basic maintenance catch-up, with special emphasis on fluids, grease, and oem parts.

It's all in who owned your car before you, unfortunately. When you creep up over 200k miles, that effect is magnified.
