So I have a MY2000 with about 170k miles on it right now. I drive spirited mostly and not too aggressive by anymeans. No autox or track time. It is my daily.

So far the things I had to replace on the car were:
-Throttle body (tps issues)
-Iacv valve
-Map sensor
-Both axles (pitted cups)
-Driveshaft (too much noise and vibration)
-Radiator (Cracked)
-Motor, Tranny, Diff Mounts (cracked)
-Rack and Pinion (steering turning by itself)
-Secondary Fuel pump (stopped working so took it off)
-Almost all boots need replacing
-Car constantly having idle issues
-All door locks dont work with remote
-replaced window motors

What are your experiences?

I am constantly fixing stuff on a monthly basis

06 AP2 with 194k miles and had her since 2 miles.

** major maintenance items in 12+ years of ownership...

- replaced all 4 shocks with OEM (160k).

- vtec solenoid and vtec gasket (189k)

- driver side actuator

- hex bolt leak

** minor issues in 12+ years...

- radio volume (lower) dash doesn't work.

- high beam headlights hasn't worked in 1.5yrs

considering the years and miles she's been very good. engine, tranny, differential, drive shaft, clutch are all in great working order. friend has an 07 and his clutch feels nowhere near like mine and he has way fewer miles, but he's also the 2nd owner.

wow thanks for all the replies. I guess mine is kind of a severe case. I also probably drove the car hard with bad motor mounts that may have cause the axles and driveshaft fail.

I prefer buying cars with higher mileage as I feel the car could only make there if proper maintenance has been performed. My current (3rd) s2k is an 04 with 205k miles. I bought it from the original owner with 165k miles. The original owner took extremely good care of the car, so much that when I saw it, I bought it without even driving it. It's still on the original clutch and doesn't exhibit any signs of needing a replacement. Just as rule of thumb, I've replaced spark plugs, filters, valve adjustment and windshield wipers. Going to swap out diff and trans fluid here soon. The car runs stellar

On the other hand, I bought an 08 Evo in 2016 with 21k miles. I though since the miles were low I would be trouble free. Yea...... That damn thing gave me so many issues.
