Been a police officer for a long time. Seen lots of accidents along the way. Damage is always worse than it first seems. Once items start to be removed more damage usually shows up. A friend owns the local body shop. He told me his business is off 25-30% because vehicles are so easily totalled the last few years due to increases in parts and labor.

Sounds pretty bad just from the description. The car will definitely never be the same if repaired and you'll never be happy. Just push to have it totaled with the insurance company.
