Accord key for the S
my 02 cents i:m on the same page with the accord key and the dealers have no clue because there honda computer tells them no. so i was thinking if you could maybe buy a accord switch and have it installed then the car and key would be on the same page. but the start button i don;t know how you would make it still work. The other way is just to get a cheap used one from ebay and have it cut see if the car will start then have it programmed.
someone did this for their Ep3 civic and he used a pilot or crv key. i think it would work for the S. you'd have to break apart your S key, take out the I/C chip and mount everything (key + chip) into the CRV key (a little fabrication might be needed), i've seen it work with other hondas.
I have a Pilot key (same as accord but w/o trunk button) that I made for my wife's Element. I took the chip out of the Element valet key and just programmed it with the car (holding buttons own correctly etc).
I am not sure if it will work on the S- I need to try one day and see.

has anyone taken a look at the new civic keys, Pef the EX model since they have a trunk release button. maybe if the accord key doesn't work, maybe the civic key will. does anyone have any prices on either accord or civic keys? and the cost of reprogramming it to work with the immoblizer?
You can stick an S2k chip in an accord key. The only problem is the FCC ID's on the remotes are different. The Accord (FCC ID: OUCG8D-380H-A) uses a 312Mhz frequency. The S2k (FCC ID: E4EG8DJ) uses a 434Mhz frequency.
In short, you can use the key ad immobilizer, but the remote will not function.
