I was under the impression the current stock radio played MP3s. Oh well... I didn't leave it in long enough to find out.

So when does the 06 come out? Any ideas as to how different the car will be. Dealer's offering a great deal on an 05, but might just wait.

I don't see how great added functionality is since the radio is so poor anyway. I just plug my iPod directly in now too, so no need to burn discs.

saki,
Does the standard s2k stereo have an aux port? Where's it located?

Yeah, I'm interested in how you plugged your iPod in. I will hopefully soon own an S2000 with the black/red interior, which would match my U2 iPod perfectly!!

Nothing as easy as an Aux port - unless you have an after market head unit in the S. You can search for tons of info on getting your iPod wired in the electronics section.

I think the basics are that the factory unit is weak and sound is low quality, and the speakers aren't really that good, so its well worth the money to upgrade the stereo system.

I've found that adding rear speakers to the stock '02 stereo was suffcicient for me. Plenty of sound for an open-top roadster.

As for the AUX port, you can get an adapter that plugs into the CD Changer interface on the headunit. I bought one for my wife's Accord that works great - the company had one for the S too.

Depending on your model year, this may work:
