Acura S2000...
...or is it Honda NSX?
At any rate, had a chance to take a fabulous ride with a group of 8 NSX's, 4 S2000's, and a lone Integra Type-R.
Great company and superb roads... A little too much traffic in the beginning, but by mid-afternoon, a small group took a detour and explored some of the limits of our respective machines ...
The NSX's are fantastic on these back roads, but I think we might have also created a few new S2000 enthusiats!

cool pictures. . . looks like fun; it's so hot this week in MI (read high humidity) that the S2k sits in the garage - - I know I could put the top up and a/c on; will have to if things don't improve here.
PFB,
Great Pictures! As a perspective NSX buyer, I'm curious as to how the performance compares to the S2000, seat of the pants that is? Handling charateristics, straightline etc.! Bet you had fun. I've yet to be able to get a ride in one so I don't know what to expect. Give me some insite will you?
Thanks

Of course much has to do with driver skill as well, but here are my impressions. I was running with Pre '97 NSX's. My understanding is that the later ones have a slightly bigger motor:
Acceleration: Most of the NSX had more straight line pull. Not much, but even when I anticipated a pass, pre-selected a pure vtec passing gear, and jumped on the throttle, the NSX's would typically pull slightly on me. Not much, but noticable.
Canyon Cornering: The S2000 could pretty much hang with the NSX through any apexes or curves. It seemed like the car and driver of the NSX's maybe had to "work" a little less. Flatter cornering, a much wider track and significantly wider tires. I have a Mugen Sway bar and DiGrappa X-brace, but these kinds of speeds definitely left me wanting somewhat stiffer springs and adjustable (stiffer) shocks.
Top Speed: Roads limited us to 144 indicated, 135 GPS measured, top down. The S2000 kept up in acceleration, but felt kind of floaty above 120. I'm sure the superiour aerodynamics and higher horsepower of the NSX would give it an even higher top speed if the roads allowed.
Braking: No issues with fading or stopping distance. Unlike a race-track, we didn't really work the brakes very hard.
We have an NSX event planned here in Austin for this weekend to which the S2000's have been invited, so I can't wait! Pfb, you just got me all excited about this coming weekend all over again...
I really appreciate the info, thanks pfb. If I'm gonna step up I need to be aware of the diffrences. Intresting, it sounds like the edge went to the NSX but not by much. I take it that the NSX's were stock, no mods?
