Well, as some of you guys know, the AEM CAI and several Strut Tower Braces don't fit together! I originally thought that the Comptech one fit, but it was really tight and was resting on the AEM rubber connecter.
To remedy this, I had aluminum spacers made to raise the STB about 3mm!
This now leave a gap between the STB and the AEM pipe without touching each other!
I was also worried about the STB hitting the hood after this fix. Seems to fit okay and the hood isn't bulging out or anything. I'll check after several days to see if there's any complications.
Here's some pics....

the thing is, the reason why I wanna go with AEM is it shouldn't lose HP and save weight.. but I heard Comptech STB is heavy as hell...it this case...I may not .... I don't know...

Hmmmm... I'm looking at my braces here and when installed they don't touch anything they shouldn't (i.e. there is clearance everywhere there should be). It seems the issue is one of height and whether the brace clears the curved intake tubing from the airbox to the engine.

The Whiteline brace does have clearance in this area and although I haven't fitted one to a car with a CAI I can't foresee any problems doing so.

If anyone is interested I can always go down and measure the gap on my own car. It may just be enough to fit with your CAI.

My braces weigh 1244 Grams (43.88 Ounces) BTW.

The AEM CAI goes straight out from the manifold whereas the OEM intake tube points slightly downwards and towards the center of the car.

Ok... I'll take a look and measure the gap next time I'm in the garage. It's just a hunch, it may not fit... but I won't know until I take a look

That's funny -- the AEM CAI fit ok under my Comptech STB. It was a tight fit, but ok.

But another guy who has the CT STB, he needs the gasket for extra 3mm, otherwise it won't fit.... And, you just have it installed .... sigh~~ What should I do now?

There is some (not a lot) of flexibility in the connecting hose between the manifold and the pipe. The Comptech bar slopes upwards faster and end up higher than the Spoon or Neuspeed bar.

demonderrick,

Get the AEM, install it, and see how it fits. We removed the Comptech bar for the install, and flexed the AEM pipe down as far as it would go, then reinstalled the STB. I added a rubber cushion between the AEM and the STB just in case engine vibes rubbed them together, but no problems so far.
