I had an CAI in my ITR. The whistling was very noticeable. It really started to irritate me, so I took it out. Aside from that, the noises that it made were pretty awesome when I hit VTEC.

Wow I was driving to work this morning and heard this same exact noise and was going to post the same question. It does sound as if it comes from the intake.

Guess the tech guy at AEM didn't think the screeching I was talking about was this whistling. Posted the link to this thread on their website's board. Guess I'll go see if anything else is posted over there.

You would think they would have been able to design the CAI and not have the whistling/screeching sound.

actually, i should have clarified......my INJEN was a short air and i switched to an AEN CAI.......

i think the whistling may have to do with the fact that both CAI's use metal tubing (the stock is plastic or rubber - not sure) and the air makes a different sound travelling through it......

Normal. My Injen does it too. It also makes a weird hiccup when the engine is shut off.

All of this in normal.. Dont you guys know that that was an intake does. It makes those noises and most people install them just for that purpose. They don't do much else....
