AEM V2 CAI pros/cons
I just got the AEM V2 CAI but havent installed it yet. Is it true I may need a dremel to install? Plus, I hear good and bad things about using this CAI. Is it smart to use this V2 CAI or not?
Pros:
- makes for a really cool sound
- is a "performance" intake as well as a cold air intake
- frees up a lot of space in the engine bay so you can do oil changes much more easily.
Cons:
- you must build yourself an "umbrella" to prevent water from dripping onto the filter (sucks in water if you don't); also plug the hole in the water channel under the edge of the hood.
- frees up a lot of space in the engine bay and makes it look almost "naked"
- requires cutting of plastic in 2 places
- access to get at filter for cleaning is difficult

use the search... plenty of information around about this.
I have the V2, I'm happy with it but don't expect miracles.
Yes you have to cut some plastic to make room for the tubes to pass...
