hey xviper, even though that umbrella thing is by Injen, will it still work with an AEM V2 CAI? Also, will it not allow as much airflow than without it?

AEM and Injen are almost the same. That umbrella will likely fit without problem or at least with very little "persuasion".
The umbrella doesn't sit close enough to the filter surface to be of any obstruction. That's not a worry.

what can I use to block the water channel under the hood and how do I do it? Where is this located? Also, what 2 areas do I need to cut plastic and with what tool? Do I need to still spray oil on a dry flow AEM filter which came with the V2?

Here is some more info and a water test of the umbrella mod. You can see what hole needs plugged in the middle of picture 2 (you can use tape).

ok thanks! I also just noticed the filter that came with the V2 says do not oil since its a dry flow. Are dry flow filters the only filters we can use with V2? Lastly, how does a shield/heat shield connect to the filter?

Tape or anything else that will prevent water flow ... Be creative.

The instructions included with the Intake should tell you where to cut. A dremel to cut out large areas, and then a razor blade or a sharp pocket knife to get smaller areas worked well for me.

I didn't spray anything on the filter the first time I put it on. Afterwards you can buy a cleaning kit from AEM that will take care of everything...
