Default After 600 miles on MY07 S2k...

My first push was on second gear, than did serveral other test in 1st -4th.

Here is my observation,

1) The S2k VTEC transaction is not too smooth, where I can feel VTEC kicks in at around 6k-6.5k, is that correct?

2) I don't think its fully broken in yet, because I think it should be faster?

3) Even though the maunal says after 600 miles is fine to push it, I felt I have just abused a fairly new motor, no?

At what stage did your car feels faster after break in period? 1000? 3000?

Thank You

My vtec crossover is very smooth but I can notice it. 600 miles is enough for the break in period. I heard your car will run faster after 30,000 miles or something.

I think it was a video I saw where they dyno'd two S000's one with low miles and one that had ~30k. They were both the same year and the one with high mileage made more power. Not 100% sure though

Car is just a baby right now. Once it hits its teenage years (around 10k-12k) these things really start to go. I noticed it with my car. Many others have commented the same results.

I like the analogy, that means I should wait til its a teenager before putting any performance mod on it.

your car sounds like its running just fine. You will definitely notice the VTEC change over (I've driven a handful of ap1 and ap2's) when your below the engagement rpm.

As for the engine making more power with more miles. I would prob think that the higher numbers were due to carbon deposits upping the compression ratio of the engine just a bit. Plus it will be well broken in.

The car isnt exactly that fast so i'm not sure what you're expecting in terms of straight line performance but i waited til 600 to vtec too.

car gets faster as it gets older. more carbon build up=more compression=higher hp=little faster.

Ya, I think it quick. Its weird for me, a car feels faster if I sit next to the driver, but when I am driving the car, it doesn't feel as fast. example, my intergra

Do you guys get that sometimes?
