Default aftermarket steering wheel question

hi all,

have any of you guys fitted an aftermarket steering wheel to our S?

thinking of doing this as I have very little room at my left leg in the car (i'm 6' 3" + have quite muscly legs) - just picked it up yesterday - i'm ok to drive it but would ideally like a little bit more space for my left leg.

thing a 320/300 mm steering wheel would be perfect.

any suggestions/advice on which boss to buy to fit on the S?

also any suggestions on good steering wheels?

and how to overcome airbag warning light when stock steering wheel is removed?

i think some boss's maybe have a transponder to disable this light?

any help much appreciated!

cheers,
billy

i personally would not recommend getting a smaller diameter aftermarket steering wheel. if you haven't noticed, the stock wheel allows you to barely see the top edge of the tach. adding a smaller diameter wheel will obstruct the view of the tach. instead, i think if you really need more knee room you should consider getting aftermarket seats instead that are lower than the stock ones. on a side note, not only is an airbag valuable in events of an accident, but it is illegal for you to remove it from a car that comes with one.

personaly my fav wheel is the mugen wheel. but its suede and if your hand sweat then you will ruin the suede in a matter of months. the spoon wheel is also nice. my other choice would be the Nsx-R set up.

A smaller wheel will inhibit the tach but only if it is more than 1.5 inches smaller.
Most Momo wheels are not and will fit fine.

I got the 300mm Momo Corse steering wheel with the NSX-R horn and Spoon steering hub.
It's good and small, as for the tach....I don't see a difference in height between the stock wheel and this way. OH, maybe because I have Bride seats .

Put a 2 ohm resistor across the 2 airbag leads
