I think the tach seems cool enough and I'm fine with it most of the time. But when I try to redline shift and nail it perfectly, I find that I have to totally focus on the tach. Seems annoying and dangerous to me. The times I try to redline shift while just looking out of the corner of my eye, I shift too early. Never seemed to have that much problem in my Integra with a traditional tach.

That I can deal with and the cool factor is enough that I don't mind the tach, really. The digital speedo is what kills me. I can not get a sense of how fast I'm going without focusing directly on the speedo. Well, maybe I can tell if the speedo is showing two digits or three, but it's not like a dial where you can tell it's around the top of the dial, therefore you must be doing around 65 mph or whatever. Digital speedos are evil. But really I'm nitpicking. I wouldn't trade the car for anything else in my price range.

If it's clearly visible on top of the dash, yeah, that's rice. If you could hide in on the A pillar, you'd be fine, I think.

I read of someone who installed three intermitent shift lights

They are all programmable. Green Yellow then Red

They were LEDs and it was a very clean install in the A pillar.
I'm trying to find out where to get the shift lights from.

Spoon no longer makes the analog tach displays for the S2000s and when they were made it was in very limited quantity. So basically impossible to get ahold of.
