We have some things to discuss with AHM before we sign the agreement as well as have the BOD vote on signing it so hopefully we will begin the relationship with AHM very soon!

 

As they say counting your chickens before they are hatched can put egg in your face.

Good job guys, congrats on a tough task, great accomplishment. Hope this all works well. BTW, As the winners at the academy awards say "I would like to thank so and so, if it weren't for you I wouldn't be where I am today'

 

Just an update:

Greg and I spoke with the attorney that drafted the AHM agreement for almost an hour on Monday. We are revising some things and changing some language on the agreement.

As it turns out, we are only the 2nd car club to reach an agreement of this nature with AHM - the other is the Honda/Acura Club. AHM is very excited about working with us on PR and marketing for the Club. This agreement gets more exciting each time I look at it!

The BOD will be voting on whether to sign the revised agreement next Monday.

Just telling each new S2000 owner about S2KCA would be a good start.

*scratch head* What th'heck is the "Honda/Acura Club"?

 

They are the club that puts out that Honda/Acura magazine called Velocity. I'm not very familiar with them, although I do get the magazine which isn't bad.

 

When do you expect to move from double-secret status to an announcement of some sort?

The BOD will be voting on this matter this weekend.

The agreement isn't much more complicated than we have a pending licensing agreement with AHM. Outside of the agreement AHM is also going to get us in touch with their PR/Marketing people which we hope will lead to direct mailings and other publicity for the Club.

I guess the agreement itself isn't the most important thing, it's the relationship with AHM and their PR/marketing departments. The PR/Marketing relationship is not defined at this point, but if they do half as much as I would like it will be a huge step for the Club.

Information about the Club and events such as S2KDays will spread much more quickly by way of this agreement. This is the main takeaway from this. Down the road there probably will be other benefits to this relationship, but at this point it would be pure speculation.

FYI - Greg and I just spent another 30 minutes on the phone with the attorney at AHM and he indicated that as soon as both parties sign the agreement that he has the contact names in PR for us! Great news.
