Default Airbag disable button (passenger side)

Guys,

Does the S2000 (year 2008+) have a button to disable the passenger airbag?

Thanks in advance,
Tnt

It does not have a button, but the passenger seat does have a sensor on it. I believe anything more than 60lbs or so will activate the passenger airbag. Anything less, and it will not deploy (and the light will be on above the radio door).

EDIT: Sorry, I was speaking of my 2007, but I'm pretty sure the 08s are the same.

So I am assuming its legal to drive the son around in it. Son is 2.5 years old.

On my '05 350z roadster, I had to get a switch button.

Thanks,
Tnt

You can get the button installed from the dealer; however there are special forms to fill out.

When my daughter is a little older I plan on taking her in the S. It does have the sensor (60lbs, which I tried once to test it out by putting the bag of dogfood on the seat and the airbag light did show that it was off). Ofcourse when I do take her in the car it will be only on short trips and very easy conservative driving.

If you have little or no weight in the car and plug in the seatbelt it will turn off. I normally cruise with my passenger seatbelt plugged in even when no one is in the seat. It keeps the belt from knocking on the panel and also turns of the pass. airbag.

When I got the button put on my 350z, I did fill out a form (Federal requirement).

So I am assuming the sensor feature serves this purpose and no button is required, therefore its okay to put a child on the seat?

Its going to be like a 2 mile drive to the babysister .
