Ya, it's a bit much but I'm guessing that's just MSRP and they can be had cheaper.

J's ECU lower the vtec point approximately to 4200rpm raised the rev limiter to 8500 for the AP2. You will notice power after 4000rpm up to redline. There's no extra tuning requirement if you run this ECU.

Will lowering the vtec engagement point to 4200rpm hurt the engine in any way? Will it add extra strain? Do you lose power across the board because of this or not? How hard is it to switch out the ECU?

Also AJ, will you ever sell the original shift knob that was available on AP2's (the one with the leather)?

I don't eat breakfast! But seriously, It's not a hard task, it's just that I've never worked on this car (or really even looked underneath the hood since I got it) so I wouldn't know where the ECU is. Although I'm assuming it's near the firewall driver side somewhere. I'd really like to know if this is a worthwhile modification, although it's kind of hard to dish out that much cheese for like 15-20hp, although the fact that VTec kicking in at 4300rpm's really makes me curious as well as the raised rev limiter!

So i think I might go for this....the onyl drawbacks are no rev lmit, and also frsatvates the comp key. So with a comptech intake and fuji exhaust I will see gains right?
