alarms
I know this is in the wrong place, but I'm set to go sign the deal tom'w for an '02 suzuka, and I'd like to hear from people about their alarm choice (by the way, I live in central NJ).
I have the Clifford 8000 with dual proximity senors at 4 points of the car and it came with 2 power backups.
You can hookup a laptop and program it or just by the main key fob
I like when people get to close and it lets out a loud ZZZZZZTTTTT sound, yet it has a smart enough brain to know when a passing Harley or truck or anything with a loud exhaust will not set it off. If someone walks up even at an angle and try's to lunge over or lean or reach inside they get the loud ZZZZZTTTT.
No alarm is perfect but it helps to get all the bells and whistles

A couple questions ....
1) How much are you guys paying for these alarms?
2) Does the installation of the proximity sensors do anything to the interior of the car?
3) I've heard questions about "factory loop" and other installation features that make it harder for thieves to know if you have an alarm... comments on this?
thanks

I have the clifford concept 600.
1. $600 total, including install
2. They mount it underneath the interior, everything will look the same
3. not sure what you mean? I have the system where you have to put in a code to drive the car, so it can't be stolen

Viper 800 with prox. sensors, if i'm not mistaken i believe Clifford & Viper alarms are both manufactured by DEI, does anyone know the difference from a Clifford 600 and a Viper 600 are they the same alarm with just a different name or are their some differences between the 2, thanks.
