Yea the s2000 is kinda fast.
It doesn't pull nearly as hard as the new evo IX though.
that turbo kicks in pretty hard at 3200rpm.
below that it doesnt move at all.
Yeah, but that's forced induction. It's apples and oranges. Take that turbo off your Evo and see how well it does!

I've concluded that it's really about being engaged with driving. The only time I've ever thought the car was lacking was when I found myself daydreaming in traffic and realizing I was cruising along in 6th @ 2000rpm and needing to accelerate! That instant reaction to drop 2, even 3 gears is just not part of the way I've been used to driving up until now.

It does take a bit of reprogramming, doesn't it!

I agree, its has no low end compared to a 6 or 8 cylinder motor, but for a n/a 4 banger, I'd say its got pretty good pull through the powerband, just much more dramatic up top.
A large displacement 4 cyl could have lot's of torque. Torque isn't necessarily dependent on the # of cylinders.

My car has more torque then hp, it pulls at any RPM pretty good. I can out accelerate half of my friends cars without ever downshifting lol.

Bore & stroke is what determines rev & torque.

Lots of stroke, more torque

Truth... at my old work we had a small forklift that was only powered by a 4 cylinder Cat, not even turbo. We had very little problem towing 35,000+ lbs.
