Hey guys just wanted to share a story about tonight........

On a drive back from Burger King with my girlfriend, feeling a little frisky so got into v-tec when I was on the on ramp to the highway. Just cruising home now..,..........................and a deer runs in front of my car and I missed the deer by centimeters, if not millimeters.

+1 for honda to make good a$$ stock brakes.

Moral of the story: WATCH OUT FOR BAMBI and be safe out there.
Something about the juxtaposition of a Burger King trip, and nearly harvesting a Bambi carcass. We live in a very heavily wooded gated community. Deer are a persistent nuisance on the Island, and periodically our community and others get town permits to cull the deer herds, which are responsible for numerous vehicular accidents. Fortunately, the last cull about three years ago resulted in a tremendous population crash. I will remember to keep my eyes open. Sometimes these large hooved pests do return. They are not cute ---- THEY ARE PESTS!!!.

I refer to them as Forest Rodents, because that is exactly how I see them.

$4,000 in damage to the Titan... And this is not my 1st vehicle that has a nasty run in with a deer.

Hmmm.. I see a bit of deer hair on that Titan. Definite forensic evidence. Find the deer with the bald spot, and you find the deer who did all that damage. Well, actually it is not a laughing matter. Every so often a deer crashes through the windshield with bad consequences to the occupants of the innocent car.

Believe me, my deer was found, it was broken and by the side of the road. In my situation I hit him more than he hit me, and the speeding 5,000 pound Big Red Beast really has its way with Bambi. The worst part was after his chest impacted with the front fender/grille/headlight/bumper he spun around and his asss impacted with the rear fender, leaving another huge mess. I even had fur impacted between the rear wheel and the tire itself...

Saw a big buck going up to the ski area near Taos, NM last week. I was on my V-Strom (motorcycle) and was able to hit the throttle and get passed him before he had a chance to do any damage. The next day I drove by five horses that were next to the highway north of Mora. Luckily they were munching on the tender grass in the ditch and ignored me. Over forty years of driving and riding w/o a deer accident. [knock on wood]

Glad everything turned out ok for you. It could have been bad.
I too have had a couple of run ins with Bambi before.
One time I almost fell off the side of a mountain because of one.
Just curious, has anyone else had a run in with Yogi before?

This is me:

I know I'm both lucky and irresponsible. Blow me. The deer thing happens at 2:30, but there is some funny commentary throughout.
