Default the almost perfect thermos cup for your s

i have been looking for a thermos cup that will fit in the cup holder of the s. most of them are just way too tall and can interfere with shifting. today at Target, i found the ArcticCuff by Thermos, which is about the size of a 12 oz. can of coke. it fits perfectly in that little cup holder. the only problem is it does not come with a cap so you'll have to find your own.

Not having my S yet (1 week or so and counting), I don't know exactly what will suffice, but when I was poor and had a VW Jetta (the previous body style, used to be know as Jetta III), I had found that there were very few cups that would fit in it's holder. The holder was in front of the stick and had very little height allowance.

What I and a friend (who also had a Jetta) found was that VW sold 10 cups to fit (shorter than pop can) and Sharper Image had a thermos-type mug that also fit.

Hope that helps...

There's another thread on cupholders here, which you might find informative: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...ighlight=target

I'd rather do without a cup holder! the spills are a pain to clean... Fluids do not like staying in cups (een with lids) if the cup flies out of the holder - and they do at upwards of .80g...

My old Nissan Stainless coffee mug was protruding way too much and could not shift well. So I went I bought the thermo version (looks like a bullet) in order to throw it in the trunk and drink once I get to work (I just bought it and haven't had a chance to test it though).

Mercedes had a nice half-height SS cup. Don't know if it's still available.

I use a WAWA thermos-type cup, about 6" h, which provides a nice arm rest for casual shifting but I have the oem shift knob. Might not work if'n I had one of the voodoo's, etc.
