I had raptors on my gsr. They were great for daily driving. They were cheap, I abused them for 30k miiles and they showed almost no wear (I bought them with the intention of finding the cheapest tire that had a decent speed rating and high treadwear rating). The car got jacked before I finished with them hense I got my S. I might have to get some for my S lol cause I'm not spending 900 a year on tires for sure.

Although the S is my first rwd car I drive it like a granny lol (double clutchinand granny shiftin like I should) I. Have been in the canyons in the rain with my sportbike I know what slipping and sliding is... at least in the car I can't go down lol. I got the rear end loose once by accident in the dry, I was smooth on the gas though so it didn't snap, just started to rotate a little, was kind of cool actually

What do i search when searching for tires like what are the specs? I found on here with OEM wheels and such for the rear 245/45/16 and front 205/55/16 but i couldn't find any on tire rack for that type of combo. They said for the s2000 it should be 225/45/16 i think

Spend the most you can afford - there is only 4 small patches of rubber on the road - what's you car/life worth?

probably should ask the guys over in the tire subforum: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=56

Depending on your location, you should first decide on all-seasons vs summer tires and then go check out the ratings for the tire type of your choice over @ tirerack.com

The best mod you can do for the handling of your S2000 is to install GOOD tires and driver mod! (driver mod is to install a more skilled driver or learn to be one!)

Tires are the only part of the car in contact with the road...they are not something you want to go cheap on. That said you don't have to spend a fortune to have good tires. I run Hankook RS2/RS3 and they Run $90 - $120 per tire. Great bang for the buck and they have more lateral grip than you can safely use on public roads.

All those possibilities for two near misses, but it couldn't possibly be your right foot or judgment, eh?

A Rain
B Tires
C Driver
D Some combination of all of the above.

Choose D. I don't want to see more threads that attempt to shift the responsibility of the accident to the "tail happy" S2000.

to whomever suggested to a guy that's having trouble cruising a mountain road or making "quick sharp right turn at 30 mph" without a near accident to buy Star Specs.

Also, FYI, I'm sure the late model 5 series has Electronic Stability Control . Hence, harder to lose the rear end.

Star Specs where suggested because he said his tires had little tread life left, and he was searching for a good replacement tire. Nobody said that the tires would make it so he could safely drive like an ass hat, just that they are a good tire.

at your failure to read and comprehend the whole thread before mocking those who have.
