Alpine Stereo

Ok, it's official. The part number is different from what I posted earlier. that part was for an adapter for the CD changer.
The aux controller part is PESWI3, still made by Amps of America, and runs about $80. The stereo shop said it would take 2 days to order it.
I could not find it on the website, but here is the URL for Amps of America: http://www.stinger-aamp.com
I'll post again when I get the new head unit installed.

adam99rs: Do you have this Alpine piece in your car? Is it hard wired or is it via IR?
Got pictures?
Im still a little confused. Is this part able to let me use my old Alpine head unit with the aux controls. if it is and it works I will buy it. Pinky, if yu want to get into this I will be more then happy to send you a check. Thanks guys!
I have a strong suspicion that the mute button will not work through these things since ours is the only Honda with a Mute button.
Somehow, I doubt Alpine bothered to make the extra feature available for just the S2000 crowd. could be wrong, but I think it is a question to ask the first person to get the thing installed.
Dan.

Yepp you could throw in a relay setup to throw the mute button.
Once Zoinks I will hope he can take pictures and post a part number and his impressions. If its a feasable setup I can get a group buy for it.
Though I do like my setup since I kinda was the inventor but I gotta go where demand is! If it works perfectly no trouble with installation lemme know.
Zoinks if you get the piece help me out and what not show me the reciept for the part you bought and if this GB goes through I might be able to give you some re-imbursemant for the difference between the GB price and the price you paid. Just some incentive.

Pinky,
You got it.
I'll also take some pictures as it is being installed for sh1ts and giggles.
Just to clarify, I'm not purchasing an Alpine headunit. I opted for the MP3 Kenwood (z919). I'll check with the stereo shop folks to ensure compatibility with Alpine units as well.

I was researching it for somebody here but they gave up. Just went with my mod. My boss looked into it and came to the conclusion that it was the same piece she heard of years ago. It was made to work for such a situation. Though it was not reliable and didnt work in all situations. Hence was discontinued. If there was one around it would cost a fortune to get!
