why not just use the OEM instead of that one?
I think the idea is that this cover folds into something that can be easily stored since it is just fabric. The OEM is not easy to store or fold. I don't use the OEM at all, and I don't much like the looks of the one from the German company, but I thought others that wanted something foldable might want to take a look.

Right - that is the objective. Unfortunately, I agree on the look of the German one. Thanks, though.

I want those un-needed humps or steps.
That's why this cover looks so damn good!
If I want a flat one,I have the OEM.

I would be interested in a more compact softcover that folds. Judging from the pics, the German is a little funky looking and seems to be a bit pricy$$$

He is looking to produce a hard tonneau similar to the one that Racing Beat makes for the Miata. It will be rather streamlined (no un-needed humps or steps) and will follow close to the same lines as the original soft boot (if not flatter).
I had seen one 2 summers ago on a local Red S....didn't know the owner, saw the car parked outside of a restaraunt...the was exactly as you describe...i've never seen another one, one for sale, of even that Red S.
