Thanks for the info. Just picked up my new S2000 yesterday. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and had to drive it back through the sloppy snow we've had. This dealer was dealin. He sold a new Red 2000 S2000 for $28990.00,and I paid $31,545.00 for my new Silver 2001. At least the snow has dropped the price a little!

Thanks for the clarification C.

Keep in mind, because the hood is aluminium it is delicate. Follow the proper procedure when closing the hood. I use no more then a 9" drop when closing it.

How can you close it with a 9" drop? I find the hood latch is very stiff and I have to "throw" the hood down to get it to latch.

You can adjust the rubber feet that the hood sits on to make it a little easier to close. Get some pliers and turn then clockwise a 1/2 turn and see if it's easier to close.

The S2000 has an aluminum "x-frame" but body panels are made of steel, except for the hood.

That is a great price, wtromb ! Congrats on the car and getting such a great deal. Maybe you can help out fellow shoppers in the Chicago area. What dealership was it and how was the experience (besides the great price)?

It was Grand Honda in Elmhurst. They still have a red 2001, that I'm sure could be had for the same money. The experience was great.
