As for my 9" drop, it closes every time. Silly me for thinking this would be the norm. Nothing usualy is
Instead of saying what I do, maybe I will just say...Don't slam the hood down, Don't drop it to far ( or let technicians ) and don't push it down if it didn't latch.
my point is these things can bend, warp, dent farily easily

Yeah The X-bone is steel because it was ALOT cheaper to make and also for lower insurance, Imagine all the aluminum repairs . . .
