No, you're not an ass. An ass is someone who doesn't check their oil for 2,000 miles and then complains when their engine blows up because it got low on oil.

the porsche boxster has a really neat gauge for checking the oil. the remote fill is located in the rear trunk.

i check mine (in the s2000) every time i vtec. if it won't vtec, must be about a quart low. what a design.................

No, you're not an ass. But, if your engine seizes for whatever reason, I hope you don't mind shelling out $10,000.00 to $11,000.00 because Honda claims you voided your warranty by not following the admonition in the manual to check your oil each time you add gasoline and then being foolish enough to publish the fact on the world wide web.

Of course, Wendysman, your engine seizure might have nothing to do with your not checking the oil. It could be that you had normal oil for 1,999 miles and your engine lost oil and seized all in the last mile. But, since you didn't check, you'll need your own engine forensic pathologist to prove you didn't cause the seizure.

Hi Wendysman

What did the dipstick read (if anything) when you did check the oil at 2000 miles?

Hope your car is OK.

I wouldn't call you an ass, but you sure like to live dangerously.

Why don't you just ask AHM? I am sure they will listen and analyze what to call you. As they note in your VIN file that you voided your warranty every 250 to 350 miles by not checking your oil when you filled with fuel. But then again they probably have already read what you posted here and don't really need to talk to you at all.

No your not an ass. But I do not understand how you could treat your baby like that. It's like not giving a child TLC and a bedtime snack.
