Am I causing clutch / synchro probs
there is about an inch or so of free play on the clutch pedal before the clutch engages anyway, maybe you're shifting correctly afterall. You don't need to push the pedal all the way down for the clutch to disengage, but i push down all the way, cause i'm a noob.

went got in the car to check the clutch. I put in first and let out clutch slowly until it started pulling. That was a little more then 2 inches from full release, so I guess I was only shifting at about half. cool deal, thanx again...gonna take some getting used to.
Honestly, I really don't think you're doing anything wrong. It doesn't take much to disengage our clutches. If everything is smooth in a tranny known for notchiness, then why be concerned?
yeah i guess your right about that...it is notchy a little at lower rpm normal shifts.. but when running it and given it the short clutch with the quick shift at high rpm...virtually none.
Before all the bad comments...lol im not comparing the two, but driving an 18 wheeler.you gotta get a feel for the motor/transmission. kind of a cross between the sound of motor and the vibration on the shifter. You just know when its ready. When running my car its the same to me...sounds crazy but you can feel when its good...I just pat the clutch and give it what it wants. You hit it and its like butter.....thats why i figured it was cool. then I read about going to the floor with the clutch.......dont wanna kill ma car so I asked....if nothing else, for peace of mind.

Also, shifting super fast with hardly any drop in rpm and slamming gears like you see those mad tyte drifto kings doing on youtube will kill synchros, even moreso with your AP1's brass synchros. There's rev matching involved with upshifting just as with downshifting. Give each gear the rpm it wants when you engage the clutch, whether going up or down in the gearbox, and this will prolong the life of your drivetrain. You'll know you got it wrong when the car bucks when the rpm is still too high or jerks when it's too low. Your synchros are working to make up the difference in both situations.
The jerk or buck is the engine speed differing from the tranny speed. Thus putting more stress on the clutch/tranny.
Syncro's are ONLY used while changing gears. Ensuring gear speeds are match between shifts - nothing to do with the clutch. You can shift gears without using the clutch - if you're good enough and if you rev match it'll just slid in without grinding.
OP - it sounds to me like you know what you're doing. I would ignore all this bad information. If you're rev matching and only putting part of the clutch down between shifts you're fine - as long as the clutch is not slipping. If you're power shifting ie, reving the motor up and slamming her through the gears, you'll have tranny/clutch issues due to motor speed being greatly off from tranny speed. I'd wouldn't throw it through the gears like a dragster.
I normally only put the pedal half way down to match a shift. I'm not pro and get sloppy sometimes so it's best for me to go half way. I have played with less but I don't race, it's just for fun.

what is it with the fast and furious double clutch talk??? We have syncros for a reason
You're right, it's NOT required to shift in a modern tranny. It does however, when done correctly, put less wear on the syncro. In some high horsepower cars I could see where it would save the tranny.
In F&F it's just really sloppy writing. Filler or crap if you want to call it that. But F&F is really trash talk about cars. I wouldn't take anything from it.

Does not require any force to switch the gear...its actually a very smooth switch, with very little rpm/speed loss..I even find is takes a lighter weight of the hand to make the gear switch then does a 3 - 4000 rpm "normal" clutch and shift.

also, when Im babying it I double clutch so it goes in better
