Am I getting BSed?
You could be getting BSed, which is most likely or they could be telling you the truth.
In dealer trades, the car has to be shipped/delivered to the original dealership listed. Then upon arrival, the car is traded to your dealership. It cannot ship to the other dealership, since it is not the dealership the car is supposed to go to on paper.
Now if your dealership wants to be extra helpful, they can arrange a car-on-order trade. Their management would call the American Honda Corporate office and pre-arrange the dealer trade. My Silver/Black for their White/Red, for example. If its pre-arranged, then the paperwork will be updated and the wanted car will be shipped to your dealership directly, thus bypassing all the trading bs.

I'm inclined to let the dealer hold onto the deposit for now. If I find a car before he does, I'll ask for it back, if he finds a car first, I'll buy from him.
