thx for all the help guys I got a quote from car max in modesto for 18500 which I'm probably going to take but roseville only had a yellow one last time checked.

I basically owe 8500 on my si, so I'd get a check for 10k from car max and I have 1500 cash to add so I'm trying to find something in the 20k to 24k area as the monthly payments will not be a burden for me if I can keep them in the 200 to 270 region with tax and everything.

edit: and I basically have until friday to get an S otherwise I'm staying with my si, which really is a fun car too, its just I really am tired of cable shifted cars.

and that car for 28k looks amazing but absolute most I could offer is probably well below what he would take but I would buy it in a second within my range. Although with FI it would by me DD and that might makeme nervous.

See if he'll consider sellin it within my range...

I think the S is fine for a daily driver if you don't mind the noise. For me, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I have a bluetooth headunit in the car and I can have phone conversations with the top up. Top down works on the streets but is nigh impossible at freeway speeds

But it will be noisy. I'm not gonna lie. A G35 will definitely be quieter and more luxurious if you want comfort. And you will find it inconvenient for carrying stuff. That's something you have to deal with in downsizing to a 2 seater. It really does not carry much, especially if you carry what I consider roadside essentials and a car cover.

And for a base, my car was 27.7 brand new before taxes, albeit this was last year. If you're looking at stock cars, you can get alot for 24k.

the civic si coupe is pretty noisy too, when I test drove the s2000 at tracy honda it didnt sound much or any louder in the 40 to 50 range with the top up.

I was planning on getting a hardtop for it which I hoped would improve the noise levels at all speeds.

I also used to drive an 87 fiero gt so when I go the academy I just need space for a duffle bag, and enough room to lay down my clothes and uniform on top of the bag.

If I buy from a dealer I'm also considering this car, what do you guys think?

It already had 13k miles by the time I test drove it though and they said they wouldnt lower the price much more as I tried to snag it for 24 otd.

That looks like a much better deal. a '07 for $24k otd would be a nice snag.

They want at least 27 otd right now and 25 otd would really be stretching it as I like to feel like a got a deal when I buy a car, so how much do you think its worth at the most?

I might start a new thread so you guys can help me find one quick, I'm starting to lose my head.

why the hurry. buying a car should not be a snap decision... take your time and you'll find exactly what you want.
