Peace to all you 16 yr olds. When I was that age, my old man offered me a rusty 77 Gremlin for free or get a factory job and make payments on my own. I chose the latter. 88 Prelude was 1st car. I drove that car like Vin Diesel ! Replaced more clutches than I can count.

Come on folks!!!! If you can afford it and your kids are respectful, responsible, and will take care of the car, get them whatever you want. Don't stick them with some shitbox ride just because your parents screwed you!!!! That, "I walked through snow 5 feet tall and pushed my Grandpa's Buick to and from school everyday after I pumped gas for 15 hours a day" line is crap and gets nothing accomplished. You can give a child a GT 2 and still teach them values that will allow them to be hardworking grown ups that can provide for themselves, it is HOW you teach them about values that makes the child. The car is irrelevant it is the values that you teach them that are the key. If they treat the S like crap and start acting like punks, then you take it away and keep it for yourself!! Then give them the family truckster!!! If your 18 and your parents bought you an S, consider yourself very fortunate, take care of it, respect your parents and understand how hard it is to pay for it. Your day will come. As my Dad always said, "You will have the rest of your life to work!!! Play while you can because it won't be long before you will be paying for your own car!!!" Young adults are alot smarter than we give them credit for, it is a different world!
