i owned an r1000 until recently and i wanna say its loud. around 28-35k its good but anymore acceleration youll hear it alot more. as for daily driving i used it but i drove my car like 10 miles a day. to be hoinest it was in the same class as the topsecret exh jus a little deeper. imo if your worried about it dont get it but if you do yoou'll feel the power diffrence thats for damn sure cause i did.

You're one of lucky ones I guess. mxt_777 got this exhaust and had it dynoed. The exhaust showed very minimal gains, less than 5whp I think. The R1000 is just too straight through of a design, and doesn't allow for any back pressure which loses power on NA motors, especially in the low-mid range of the power band.

If you're serious about real power, I would wait till someone dyno's the new J's Racing 70mm exhaust. The T1R 70mm I believe has already been dynoed made good power, but it's not Titanium like the R1000 and the J's Racing.

If it matters to you at all, I'm waiting for the J's Racing exhaust, I hope it makes better power than the R1000 and the T1R 70mm.

Amuse even specifies that the R1000 is best for FI applications.

well well. i sold my amuse to get the 70rr from j's w/ the header. as for gains i cant tell you what i got and im not gonna use a piggy back system to tune my car. im going w/ the aem ems.(FULL TUNE) ive had both the top secret and the amuse and i can honestly say the amuse felt "alot better" than the top secret ti.
jus give me a month and ill have a fully tuned n/a car with the mugen intake, j's header and 70rr exh. w/ the ems(UL will tune it). oh, im also gonna look into the ctae manifold as im in discussions w/ vapor right now.
goood luck

I went with the R1 Titan.
w or w/o resonator?

btw you made the right choice. the r1000 is just too much for a semi-stock engine. its perfect for forced induction though.

Two 7's, not three: mxt_77.
I did have the car dyno'd after adding the R1000, and I'm not making any more power now than I was a year ago (before I installed the R1000). However, I blame that on cam issues, and not the R1000. About a year ago, I had a set of Toda cams fail on me. Since replacing them with a new set that is supposed to be identical, I haven't seen the same amount of power that I had seen before. But, just as an FYI... when I had the stock cams in the car and the AEM CAI, Toda header, and Amuse R1000 exhaust, I was making 14 peak hp over stock. I attribute about 5 of that to the intake, maybe 1 or 2 to the header, 2 or 3 to fuel tuning, and the rest (maybe 5-8 peak hp) to the Amuse. Remember, that's just peak numbers we're talking about here, though. You should also keep in mind that I have about the same torque curve as the F22C between 3K and 8K, but I still get to keep the 9K Redline and the pre-04 gearing.
With that said... if you use the car on the street at all, I wouldn't recommend the R1000. I do, in fact, keep a set of earplugs in the car because it is obnoxiously loud. Also, since it is a header-back exhaust you don't have the option to use a catalytic converter, so you have to consider that if emissions regulations are an issue.

As for the person that stated that wearing a helmet helps decrease the sound... my experience has shown otherwise. It seems to resonate inside the helmet at certain RPMs. However, that's not generally a problem above VTEC, but it can be annoying on warm up or cool down laps (or on an autocross course where you dip down low in the RPMs and are too lazy to downshift).

Oh, and just as an addendum, the R1000 definitely had the best "seat of the pants" gains of any of my mods so far (although the original Toda cams that I had would come in a close 2nd). The bit of extra power coupled with the bit of weight loss does make a difference.
