Default amuseR1 single exit + toda are this loud ?

Well just traded up from a 3 year old HKS twin exit on stock manifold but racing cat to an amuse titan R1 single exit + toda manifold and the same racing cat

.... and it is loud !!! so loud I thought I might have a leak from the manifold/cat joint (but changed donut ring as suggested in xvipers great write-up) but had a good look under the car whilst revving a little and didn't see signs of leakage

nevertheless, on a 200mile highway drive to a trackday resorted to make shift earplugs and staying below 80-90 mph due to the dB !
(although it was great on the track !!.... with helmet )

do other users have this experience ?
are there any "clip-on" gizmos that can go on the back for temporary noise reduction ? although that lovely titan tip does not have the pair of holes as per the HKS ...

or maybe should I have got the twin exit version ? and is it significantly quieter ?

also, I didn't reset the ecu after the instal ... but after 20+ trackl laps and 400 freeway miles maybe it's nolonger necessary ?

thanks for your feedback

regards

Did you put the silencer in? Singles are notorious for being LOUD, with or without the silencer. How do you like the drone?

well xviper, not quite sure I know what you mean by "put the silencer in"

I have the amuse R1 single outlet with a resonator just infront of the rear subframe and of course the silencer onto which is afixed the large blue tipped outlet

and well the drone or buzz is pretty heavy duty, it's even started to make a part of the hood structure rattle when the hood is up ... looks like ear plugs for highway miles to get to the track

re the other post, well I think that is more effective than my old HKS, although I did go from stock header to toda at the same time and the second volume if the jdm S2000 hyperrev seemed pretty clear on hp gains

Another thing: on the toda header one cannot put back the header mounted heat shield and when I see how close are a couple of rubber covered AC pipes passing over the firewall/bulkhead I wonder if anybody has had problems with these things getting cooked ...

am I being paranoid or is it urgent to put some themal insulation on those AC pipes ??

thanks for any experience here
