I've spent about two weeks with my car, and I love everything about it... well, almost everything. I wish the speedo on the digital dash updated on the fly. When you accelerate or deccelerate hard, the speedo seems to have a hard time keeping up. It's a little annoying coming to a complete stop, looking up at the dash, and seeing "6MPH" staring back at you. Is there any way that someone could devise some chip or tweak or something to make the stock S2000 digital speedo update at a much faster rate a la Formula 1 cars? Is something like this feasible? Between Pinky, and the forum member developing an LCD display for his dash, we should have enough electric engineering expertise here to figure this out.

I have never noticed that problem before. Are you sure that you have come to a complete stop? Just asking because after you have been speeding, your mind can play some tricks on you.

never noticed this problem... my speedo updatese very fast.. infact, I can never do 1mph...
But seriously, I've not noticed this problem, perhaps you weren't at a complete stop yet?

There's definitely some lag in the speedo, try accelerating to a precise speed by looking at the speedo and you'll likely overshoot a bit. Can be tricky if the car after you at the red light has blue lights.

didn't someone post elsewhere that the lag is there on purpose, so that as you are driving down the road, the digits aren't going
55-56-55-55-55-54-54-56-56-58-56-55 ?
I thought I read that somewhere... it was a thread about timing your 0-60 and NOT using the speedo, but rather the RPMs...

Like I said, the lag is noticeable under hard decceleration or acceleration, but it's definitely there. Try coming to an abrupt stop from 40 and keep your eye on the speedo. You'll see what I'm referring to.
At any rate, I'm not losing any sleep over this, but it'd be a nice addition to have to the S2000.

Every car I have driven with a digital read out has done the same thing. It is the nature of the beast to allow for some variance in speeding up or down so that mph will not change every second
