Default The annoying BUZZ...

The weather is so nice lately that I decided to install the boot cover for the first time this season. It took me a while to get the kinks out of the folded boot cover, but I managed to get it installed. Before long, I was cruising on the freeway at 65 ... 70 ... 75 ... 80 MPH. Then it happened, the annoying BUZZ from the elastic strap for the boot cover on the passenger side. If I slow down enough, it stops, but at cruising speed, it buzzed constantly. Anyone have a cure for this?

I've had it happen a couple times. Now I just leave the boot cover off.

Just twist those straps one time before you fasten them and no more buzzing

I had an extremely irritating buzz from the passenger side at about 50mph with the top down yesterday (and top cover on). I pulled the seatbelt buckle down in front of the seatback and the noise went away. It appears that when the buckle was up on top of the seat back, it held the belt away from the seat a little bit and the wind could get under the belt. With the buckle down in front of the seatback, the belt was flat on the seat back and the wind didn't cause it to buzz.

I've driven with the top cover on several times, and this is the only time I've had that buzzing sound.

The elastic straps at the sides of the boot cover will buzz if you don't twist them before fastening. The twist keeps the wind from vibrating them. I know what I'm talking about...this is not the seat belt noise. Mine always buzzes at speed if they're not twisted.

Thanks, that sounds like a good solution. I knew this board would come through.

By the way, it is not the boot cover that buzzed, and it is not the seat belt/buckle either. It is definitely the elastic band that is on the side of the boot cover that was vibrating in the wind.

I tried my boot cover for the first time Saturday. Went for a short drive, and when I came back two of the four snaps were not attached anymore. I thought I did them right!?!?

How do you make sure they are attached right?

Red 8683 is correct. I ran into it here as well. CEO2B showed me how to prevent it, which is just twisting the side straps.

At first I thought something was coming loose. The straps reach harmonic oscillation and begin to have problems around 70mph for me.
