Another mindless comparison test. . . Motor Trend - March 04
Keep in mind that these magazines are not objective. As with anything in this world, follow the money or perks. I bet half these writers are getting some sort of kickbacks for favorable writing. Maybe it's "test" cars, vacations (to test a car), whatever.
That's the only wan I can imagine writers faulting the car for excessive noise. It's a 240hp, 9,000rpm convertible for goodness sake. It's supposes to be loud!
At the end of the day, like Razor says....who cares?
I read the numbers and by the numbers the S2000 is faster than the RX8.
S2000:
0-60: 5.8
1/4: 14.19 @ 99.90
slalom: 68.6 mph
skidpad: 0.90
figure 8: 26.0s @ 0.71 g
RX8:
0-60: 6.0
1/4: 14.49 @ 95.47
slalom: 68.1
skidpad: 0.87
figure 8: 26.1s @ 0.70
My question is how do those 04 S2000 numbers compare to 00-03 S2000 numbers?

Well besides you claiming that its selling well, do you have any actual data from a reputable source to back it up? Because everything I've read about RX-8 sales has been quite the opposite.
As far as the fun factor goes, I disagree but I guess it comes down to our own definition of fun.
