Default and another new owner says "hi"

Hi there,

I have been following this board here for the past 3 months and have to say it is great, lots of useful informmation. I went out to buy a used s2000 but ended up that day with a brand new 03 silverstone on black- 9 miles (with wifes approval). I am past the brake in at this point and enjoy the car as daily driver ... vtech'ing has become a obsession ... as a side remark, I treated the car initally as my toy for the weekends but I just can't stand not to dive it ... the 9k redline is THAT addictive to me ... therefore our Accord is my wifes car and the truck has become the back up car ...

A couple of remarks from my side ... I thought a lot about upgrading but it is obvious at this point that the SC or turbo options are the only ones for serious increase in power (will wait til warranty runs out), GET the VOODOO shift knob, it realy does shorten the shift even further- nothing I have driven before compares anymore, for what the car is in stock trim - it is an incredible value, my past rides include BMW, Corvette, Acura CL typeS, Miata and GT3000 to name a few ... to heat up the 04 discussion ... I would not have bought the car as 04 model, instrument cluster lost it's F1 look (what were u thinking Honda!!!), I love the 9k redline, and in my opinion the rear end with the 2 lamp design is far better then the new one, same for the round exhaust tips vs the new oval design ... the only item I exchange is the new door insets for more elbow room... but this is just my personal taste ...

keep it up guys!

Glad you like the car.
Of course check oil every fill up.
Varies with cars on amount of oil burned away.

Welcome. I agree with your remarks about the instrument cluster. To me is not "improved", is just "changed" and not necessarily for the better...(I thought they were going to revert to an analog-type cluster).
Same goes for the headlight/rear lamp assemblies; Change for the sake of change rarely results in true improvements.
We shall see how the bigger displacement engine works (true improvement?)
Cheers,
Daniel

I see you're up in Anna. Where did you get you're S2K and what was you're experience? Also, if it's not too personal, could you share you're cost?

I just brought mine a month ago from Rusty Wallis Honda, $31,150 out the door. Wondering if, or how much they've come down with the '04 release gettin nearer.

ENJOY!

Thanks for the welcome guys ... I got it from Honda Cars of McKinney and the buying experience was so so ... Initially they wanted $40000 for it which caused me to go straight to the exit, after that, they started making "realistic offers. Anyway I ended up getting it for 500 below sticker. Be careful with their service department, they are trying to do a good job but not everybody seems to be educated about the S. I came in @ 1800 to get the oil refilled and their comment was "u must been driving this thing pretty hard - huh ..." they did not seem to know at all that it is normal for the S to burn oil ... on the other hand, since I live in the country, I had a mouse chewing on some wires wich caused my wiper motor to short, yet they replaced it under warranty which I thought was pretty cool.
