Another one bites the dust
This was an interesting read for me. I don't think I've seen someone post such a clear elaboration of their reasons for moving away from the S2000 (in my year or so on the board).
Hey, sure the S2000 and Corvette have different design philosophies, but why shouldn't we compare them, Rick.
'Vettes have never been my cup of tea, but I still think they're cool; especially the new ones. But, if you've got the urge for a musclecar, I agree with Spa that the S2000 might not keep you satisfied.
Loyalty to our cars is different for each individual. Spa showed he has a fickle nature and doesn't generally keep a car around too long. Nuthin' wrong with that, but it's diametrically opposed to my own inclinations.
Good luck, Spa! Thanks for sharing.

And I thought he wrecked it, from the thread title. Thanks heavens there's not one fewer Spa Yellow Pearl in the world. That's all I have to say.
Oh yes. I'd love to see pictures of it too. The Z06's color sounds beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fickle? I don't think so. Check the Webster's Dictionary definition, and you'll see what I mean. There's nothing deceitful, unstable or erratic about my car-buying behavior. I prefer to think of it as selective, based on a desire to experience as much automotive wonderfulness in my life as possible.
So, let's get back to the question, "Why go from an S2000 to a Z06?" This video from a track day at Road America will explain it all: http://www.s3mag.com/s3vsdrm.wmv. It's a long (70 MB) download, but worth it. Note what happens at 24 seconds into the video, and then sit back and relax for the rest of the ride!

Spa, I didn't mean anything by the word "fickle" other than the fact that your nature is to want to change things. I suppose the word can have the negative connotations you mentioned, but I'm not used to seeing it used that way, and I didn't mean that here. To me, the word just means "not satisfied for long with something the way it is." That is what I meant. You want the definition of fickle? You should see me watching television!

Again, there's nothing wrong with fickle behavior, by my definition, when it comes to posession of objects. In fact, it's the American way. By nature, I, however, am not fickle when it comes to automobiles.
Again, I wish you well with your 'Vette. You should've gotten the red!

Three times I've gone from light 4cyl. sportscars to Corvettes and later gone back to the light 4cyl. cars. I thought long and hard about another Corvette before I bought the S2000. If the ZO6 had been available in the 405hp version at these prices there's a good chance I would have jumped on it. Then again in 99 the S2000 was the newest toy around and I liked that fact also. As it is I sold my S2000 after 2
