I'd never spend more on ebay than I felt comfortable losing in a scam. I've bought through ebay about 20 times, mostly small things like S2000 posters. One transaction for a $200 radio went bad. The radio arrived D.O.A. The seller guaranteed it had been perfect before shipping and must have been damaged in transit. He promised to file an insurance claim with the shipper and refund my money. He didn't and then he left the country.

I came out whole ONLY because I took the radio apart and repaired it.

Yep, I ran it up to that price I was hoping to be the high bidder, but some has deeper pockets than I do! I really wanted to buy that car from a guy as "trustworthy" and as "honest" as he is!
