Another Question about Winter Driving In The S.......
OK, I have my 02 S, and a 96 Tahoe. I am a college student, living at home, so i dont have a lot of bills. My Tahoe runs me about 250 for the loan, and another almost $400 in gas each month!!!!! I drive a lot, and the commute from home to school is about 60 miles round trip each day!! I got my tahoe for about 14k, and they gave me 5K for my trade, so i took a loan for 9K. I spent about another 1700 or so (water pump, reseal manifold gaskets, retap coolant lines, 4WD actuator, exhaust, fog lights, window tint) on the truck since then
One of my friends offered me about 11K for it, and really wants to buy it. I have no problem with that, since it will be saving me a lot of gas and loan payments, but if i do this, i will only have the S.
My question is...with a good set of all seasons, will I be ok in winter, and if i get it lowered in the future, will i have any problems? It doesnt snow enough to get snow tires here, just one or two heavy snows, and the roads are cleaned up right away, so its not too big of an issue!
Thanks In Advance for the help.....

well, i wouldnt be driving on S02's, but a good set of all seasons. I did drive my car last winter, so i know how bad the s02's are....maybe some good year eagle rs-a's or something! I just cant afford my truck anymore...$100 a week in gas is just too much!
I've got a cousin in Milw. that drives year-around with snow tires.
I'd get a second set of rims with real snow tires. That would be around $1000 or so, and would make the car driveable. You would still have decent summer tires then too.

Here is where the problem lies...i already have my Stock Rims, and my 17's. so that would leave me with 3 sets of rims now....thats just too much. Eventually i will have to do that though....stock for daily, 17's for auto-x, and another set of 16's for winter! Right now, i dont have the space for all of that though, so i will use the 17's and interchange between autox and winter, and keep my stocks for daily!
