what I do is just buy 2 more extra antennas, I already had 2 stolen and so far so good I still haven't used any of my replacement ones.. they're pretty cheap so this way if it gets stolen I just snap on another one =P sucks though but it shit happens!

I always just take 10 seconds of my time to unscrew it and pop it in the trunk. Much better than paying $15-20 for a new one...especially here in the Bay Area.

I had to get one from a local dealer recently for about $22 total.

Ironically, when I talked to the parts guy, he said something like, "looks like a New Beetle just got a new antenna."

I was slow on the uptake that day, so he had to explain to me that he knows that most s2k stolen antennas end up on New Beetles. Apparently, those latte-drinkers like our antennas!

I considered buying an extra antenna, just so I could camp out in the same parking lot and see if the dumbass came back for another antenna. It'd be worth the possibility of losing another one just for the possibility of catching someone and throttling the culprit. Then making him call his mom and tell her that he'd been caught stealing a $15 car antenna. Then throttling his mother for raising an idiot.

They are also in hot demand for MR2s. Much nicer then the stock wire antenna.

unscrew it before leaving your car, sure its a pain for some(not for me, takes all of 3 seconds) but don't come crying to us if it gets stolen.
