Picked mine up yesterday from a dealership in Griffin, GA. Got a pretty good deal, basically $100 off MSRP. Thought that was good for a Spa Yellow.

When the internet sales manager quoted me the MSRP price he didn't believe he'd hear from me again. He said that he gets 50 emails a day from people looking to get cheap prices on cars.

He emailed back MSRP for the yellow S2k thinking that I was just another person dreaming of owning one.

When I showed up and said I'd take the car I know he was slightly disapointed that he didn't get additional markup on this one.

When I first emailed him he had Silver/black, Yellow/black, and red/black in stock. I said I wanted yellow and that I'd be in the following Saturday to look at it.

As I was driving down the road to the dealership I saw a Silver S2k driving the other direction. The dealer sold only moments before I got there.

I would have gotten to the Griffin dealership sooner but there was another dealer in Union City who called and told me he also had a yellow S2k that he'd sell for MSRP. Thinking that I might stir up some competition between two dealers I stopped by that dealership first and it was nothing but bait and switch. They only had a Black on Red S2k and the sticker was $42,500 (no accessories)! The salesmen then told me that anything less than $36,000 was out of the question.

Anyway I went on to Griffin Honda and the Yellow one was there waiting for me. Jim, the salesman who was very nice, had no problem writing up the contract. He later told me that the Silver/Blk S2k sold for a few thousand over MSRP so he did not mind letting this one go without extra profit. Guess I was lucky.

Rev on...

Congratulation on the purchase! I didn't hear from you yesterday? (I'm not sure if you had received your private email thru this site from me?) I had my X-brace and strut bar installed and also changed my oil at 3700 miles yesterday.
Hope to see you at our Atlanta Meet on February 18, 2001 (We'll have a meet on the 3rd Sunday of every Month)!
Let me know if you want to go curising or want to get more info on our S2000. I'm right here in Norcross; there is another Yellow in buckhead (we both work for the same company). There is also another club owner who has two S2000 (a yellow and a Silver).
here is my email haikang@mediaone.net

Later!

You yuppie, rice burning, Jap car owners are all the same. The only time you should post is if another yellow S2k is taken off the streets.

Just kidding, it's one sweet ride! Which do you think we should do after work first, check out Road Atlanta or the drag strip? You know you'll lose either way...
