just wanted to hear what kind of repairs everybody has had. pretend i work for honda and am doing a product evaluation. feel free to gripe about anything that has needed to be fixed, and what you or the dealer did to solve it. did it fall under the warranty? how was honda's customer service? any recalls? please make suggestions on how the 2004 can be made better. i'm not looking for pros/cons of the s2k, just problems you have faced, from sticky volume button to tranmission failure, etc. however, for those of you who race, your experiences may be extreme for those (like me) who use (or will use) their s2k for daily driving.

 

Driver's window regulator replaced twice under warranty. Top latches (rattling) replaced under warranty.

 

Absolutely no problems at all with my '00.

 

On my 01 Spa Yellow, my driver's side window regulator went out... annoying at times but I dealt with it. I was had the decel buzzing, no big deal.

On my current 02 White, problem free.

 

Replaced HID inverter at 27,800 miles

 

Had to get the spindle nut regreased, but that's it so far.

 

Decell noise repaired under TSB 054 at 13k, now at 30k, noise is back so I may need the newest part. Otherwise, everything else has been minor, dimple in dash replaced by warranty, seatbelt recall done, 2nd gear covered under TSB 055, and bubbles in my headlight assembly replaced by warranty.

No major mechanical issues, just little things that enthusiasts like to b!tch about. But then i take the car for a VTEC run and all is forgotten.

Suggestions for newest model would be: Heated seats, option for manual top (Saves weight for track junkies) and rear speakers.

 

MY02 black/black:
Spark plug recall
Fixed windshield crack (interesting threads here on whether or not this is a design problem)
Boot cover connector repaired under warranty.
Scheduled in mid October for the window regulator gremlin and 2nd gear grind

Offer Monte Carlo blue in the US

HID "binary" behavior
Did I mention that Honda dealers stink?
