Any planned changes for the S2000 in the next few years?
since i am planning on buying an S2000 in the near future (2003 model), i would like to know if they are making or thinking about making any significant changes in the car for the 2004 model. i dont want to buy a car, then find out that the next one is gonna have xx more hp and torque and handle better or whatever (kinda like the buyers of the early model Z06s). i dont want to get jipped like they did.
does anyone know what the future holds for the S2000, and if there even will be a 2004 model??
TIA

This is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard on this board! The early Z06 buyers did not get jipped, ripped off, screwed, or anything of the sort. They bought a car, and the next model year that car was improved. That's how the car biz works. That's how a lot of businesses work. If the owners feel that they got jipped, they need to seriously evaluate their perception of reality.
To answer your question, there are probably 100 people who know what the future holds for the S2000. Most of them are walking around in white lab coats with a big "H" on the right chest . And none of them are going to tell any of us. Car companies like to keep future changes a secret for as long as possible, for seemingly obvious reasons.
My advice... Regarding the "jipped" statement: Computers, like cars, are always evolving and one of the smartest pieces of advice I ever got about computers was to buy the best you could afford (or financially justify) and not consider future possibilities as part of your buying decision. Obviously if Honda came out and said "The S2000 will have a 300 HP I6 in 2004" that should factor in. Since we don't even know what 2003 will bring much less 2004, I'd say buy your 2003 and enjoy it for a year rather than worrying about what 2004 might bring.

my uncle works for honda motor company in canada and i just got my 2002 blue s2000 the reason being he informed me that the 2002 might be the last year the car is made, and the blue is a far well color. he is not 100% sure but he said when something like that comes through the chains of honda its usualy true.

I think the gist was "a 10 year model run" or something like that...
If anyone's worried about the next year model being better... you'll be waiting for a long time b/c of that refinement thing...
