I was thinking of going with a new 2004 because you can get them at a discount, since there has been no changes to the 2005 model year car. Any disadvantages to going with the 2004 car other than the car being 1 year older??
Cheers

If you lease it won't be any cheaper (maybe even more).

Closed-end residual will be lower due to (-1) model year.

If your keeping the car forever...........none.
If your keeping for a couple of years and selling........get the 05. The 04 will be a year behind on trade value and have a year extra depreciation.

Yea, resale difference, however, if you get a $3000 difference on the front end, then it's worth it.

Also, make sure the '04 doesn't have alot of "test drive" miles on it.

Ya know!!!

I just got the same deal (within $250) on an 05' versus the 04'...glad I had a moment of indecision and let the 04 go...if you plan on selling in a few years, it will make a difference. I'm guessing you are not going to find a deal that is $3k difference on the model years unless the 04 is a demo or you are getting rooked on the quote for the 05

3k is a bit of an exageration. Most cars do not depreciate much more than a grand in a year.
If you are strapped for cash, get the 04 as long as you can get it for close to $1000 under invoice.
If cash isn't really a problem get the 05.

Oh, by the way, I just got an 05 for 31500 so the 04 should definitely be less than that.
