I have owned my 01 from new and like the car very much. IMO the car is one of the best, attractive, and unique mechanical designs available; and for $30K, Honda delivers outstanding ingenuity and quality to fore with the car's fit and finish.
My advise to your concerns, forgive me for sounding like lecture:
A. The whole security issue revolves round the decisions and analysis you make as where you choose to park and leave the car; essentially with regard to parking "location, location, location", is directly proportionate to exposure to risk, e.g. parking lot paint damage, vandalism, theft, etc.
B. It's not a bad idea to own a second car "a beater" or otherwise that is less susceptible to these risks and to use instead of your S at your decision.

- I miss not having a turbo...

- Not having 4 seats becomes an issue once every few months.

- Purchasing a large computer desk, pushing the cart out into the parking lot and remembering at the last embarassing moment which car I came in.

- I didn't have enough money for an 2002+ NSX

Only regret at all is buying any new car...that is 30500 + taxes spent. I don't feel as secure if my job goes bye bye.

My only regret is now that I am trying to sell it, nobody wants to buy it. I have never had so much trouble tying to sell a car. I have not had a single call from a potential buyer. I don't really know what to do, and I don't want to pay some auto brokerage $250 to sell the car for me and put it in an auction (These are the only calls I have had about the car).

i love my s2k but now sometimes i wish i didn't spend so much money into it and got something else like a new M3 or a G35 plus some mods. the reason for this is that i am looking for something more luxury.
Should have sprung for the M3... not quite the go-kart demon like the s2000 is... but definitely is the whole package....burns the s2000 on the straight and seat 4 people while doing it. Looks damn good, plus luxury. Of course it costs nearly twice as much, so that is a But, its a awesome car.
