I've done this to a previous car. With that one, I actually did hide it with a felt marker. Doesn't last long, so repetition is necessary. There is no real solution to this short of getting a new wheel. Have you considered getting the wheel leather wrapped?

2002S2K(Sean) is a great guy and he may have an answer for you.

Unfortunately it's just above the H symbol. My guess would be she was reaching over to grab the steering wheel with her palm facing her and she gouged it. I guess that'll teach me to let her drive my car.

I work at an auto manufacturing plant, and I have heard of an easy repair used at the plant for minor scratches/defects on plastic interior parts.

I have not seen nor have I done the repair myself. However, they claim by putting the flame from a lighter close to the pastic (without the flame actually touching the plastic) that the heat from the flame will cause the plastic to "heal itself".

If someone has a scrap plastic interior part laying around, perhaps they could try it out and report back before someone attemps this on the dash of their S.

^ I highly suspect that will take off the matte finish of the s2000's dash.

I remember on my 2000 s2000, a dumpster rolled into my car and dented my trunk. I told the body shop specifically no dash cleaners!

of course when I picked up the car, it looked like a tub of crisco has exploded in it, everything was shiny. I was kinda annoyed and I took the work order back in where the guy wrote the note about not putting any dash treatment on... he told me, "It was all dull, now it's shiny!"

argh. some people just don't get it.

I think a couple of products by Novus might be worth checking out to get rid of the scratch in the dash. I've used their stuff on plastics for pinball machines but I have heard that it works great in the car too. It's water based and comes in (last time I checked) three formulations, numbers 1, 2, and 3. 1 is for cleaning, 2 is for minor scratches and 3 is for heavier scratches. To get rid of a scratch you start with 2 or 3 then work your way down, finishing of course with 1. I got rid of some scratches on the space behind the passenger's rollbar/headrest of my S doing this, it worked well on the black textured plastic there. I'd suspect it would work on the dash too, haven't tried that in particular though.

Would be safer than a lighter, I would think
