Default any of you know any place hiring mechanical engineer?

well my bro's been laid off for a full year. he need to find a job. he's a graduate of u.c berkeley in Mech. Engineering back in 01.

he has almost 2 years of experience and has experience in solid works, and other cad system too. would be great if guys can help him. if u do, he;ll buy me an s2000 once hes back on his feet.

I'll make a deal. If I get him a job, he buys ME an S2000 once he's back on his feet. ;P

It's tough out there for us ME's. My company recently advertised for 8 openings and got over 400 applicants.

I am constantly told that there are endless job opportunities for MCHEs. Maybe I should start rethinking my major.

Yeah, it's ALL his fault. If only it weren't for him the economy would have continued it's unnatural climb to new levels and the Dow would probably be breaking 30,000 this week. I'm not standing up for Bush, but the economy was already on it's way down before he was even elected president. Blaming or giving credit to the President for the way economy is a pretty simplistic and unrealistic way of viewing it. And I was given 60 days to find a new job two weeks ago from my job or I'm out on the street, but I know better than to just blame one guy for this problem.

Well, if he doesn't mind an industry that's not so high tech, he can always look into the HVAC industry. Try both mechanical contractors (larger ones, not the 2 guys in a garage gig) or mechanical consulting engineers. Personally, I'd try the consulting engineering firms first since they always seem to be short of engineers.
